We at CANADA have talked many times about Bolaji Badejo. Today at last, and thanks to I Love Hot Dogs, we get to know his face.

And here is the ScreenTest we took of Javiera.
A year and a half hiatus shouldn't happen again.
With a delay of a few days (could it be this appalling summer heat?) we bring you here and now our latest music video to date: Luz de Piedra de Luna, by Javiera Mena.
Last night I was listening to Juan de Pablos' eternal radio show when this killer tune blasted. That way, playing it full on, even this deadly heat is kind of refreshing.

More than a year ago, CANADA's official super8 camera broke down.

Every time I get out of Spain I am reminded of how bad TV in our country is.
First day in Berlin, I turn on the TV and they’re broadcasting a documentary film about the Monks and the 60s Germany. Coolness.
And these are from the Dave The Bullet Smith shooting near Springfield, Missouri.
We travelled 5000 kilometers with Shawn Kim to shoot a 14 frames shot for the Adidas Spot.

And we just received Pegasvs vinyl. In these pictures, you can’t appreciate the illustration quality, but it’s made with an impact that gives it relief.
But let these pictures be the proof of the birth of the document.
Last 15 days bustle didn’t leave us much time for the pertinent chronicle. We’ve multiplied, divided, lost and finally found ourselves.
We’ve shot in the desert, we’ve crossed Italy from heel to head, we’ve speeded up on a runway, we’ve eaten chucrut a la Alsaciana and Alejo has came back to put thing in it’s place.
Everything’s good, here we’re waiting and wishing for next solstice.
Strange days in CANADA. We’re expanding and contracting at the same time, multiplying and dividing ourselves, this is a non-stop and it’s hard to get things done. We’re preparing an invasion from our velvet carpet.
This is the face I put when I saw the mail this morning.

No, I don’t watch TV series.
I’ve had a museumistic weekend at the Empire’s Capital, with some goosebump moments, I have to say.
Here’s 5 of them.
The Portrait Latour painted for the Edwards in 1875.
A wintery landscape by Friedrich.
Susana in the bath, by Hayez, although in real life it’s brighter and clearer.
The Execution of Lady Jane Grey, by Delaroche. That one’s incredible.
And Surprised!, by Rousseau.
We’re very happy and excited about our first production with Virgili Jubeo in charge, or actually, steering.
Hope it’s the first of many.
Enough eating like pigs and sleeping all day.
Happy year to all and Here-We-Come!!!
Looking for photos for a treatment can lead to pleasant surprises sometimes.
Fuck all politicians, economists and technocrats of the world. Long live David Attenborough.
Today, the city burned up.
We’re dying for february to come.
And then we ended up in the Fidel, having chicken vicorias with white wine, and talking about english horses, blue riders, Caravagio, Kandinski and focal length. We had forgotten how much stuff you can do on a friday.
Then we saw Kikol Grau, and it was so cool to see how him and Jaime Pantaleón talked about the 90s gore festivals, and about the path from fiction gore to bad feeling gore of Kikol’s actual project about the Libian war and Gadaffi’s death.
There were also Miqui and Leti. Miki looked very handsome, and told us he’s finished his second novel which will be published in Blackie next year. And Leti was carrying this book. It’s back cover was very funny but it has a beautiful revolutionary girl on the front.
There was quite a lot of people in Paradiso. There was Joe, who was very excited about his pass to Mushroom Pillow to release El Caldero. And, of course, we discussed with him about the cover Lourdes made of La Canción de tu Vida.
Afterwards we went next door, to Paradiso, where Arnau was playing with his new project Vactor, and a very berliner Adrián de Alfonso incarnated Mr. Tiger to sing some hell of boleros.
Then we stopped by at Luchador Records to say hi to Pol and hallucinate with his new music store, which is full of treasures and mysterious objects, and which we had seen in the music video Martín sent us a few days ago.
Yesterday we jumped out of our canadian obligations and went out to get some air. First of all, we met Sergio and Luciana in the Joaquin Costa Olímpic to discuss their plans about Pegasvs.
CANADA’s DIARY is the official expression organisation of all this.
Like the PRAVDA, the GRANMA and ELPAIS were of some sort of socialism, with all their mistakes.
It’s a nice word, socialism.
It’s maligned, worn out, vilified, prostituted, carries the weight of historic baggage, but it’s fundamental.
To be together for the love of others.
Also, the DIARY is the thermometer of a shared state of mind, the barometer of an idea, the symbol of a compromise.
Days pass, we live in vertigo and every hour feels like an abyss, sometimes even darkness.
Sorry for this panegyric sentimentalism, but thank god we still have this ideology island to say what we really feel, what we really think and what we really want.
More daguerreotype documentation of memorable 11.11.11: Here’s five more pictures that sent us young ace Cañamares.

On saturday, another cool plan in the city at beloved Stanley Sunday’s side.
Omnipresent, tireless and kind Dani Cantó gives us some pictures of the historic numerological conclave around Arnau Sala and his 11 plates with 11 loops playing from 11.11 p.m. on 11 of 11 of 11.
Mate e strikes back against a long-awaited #2.
And towards the end, this version I didn’t know by Siouxie, with a surprise special guest at guitar. This really is public TV.
Half way through, this amazing instrumental by Uncle Buddy with the Orchestra.
That british ostracism does have it’s advantages. For instance, BBC. Last night, after the first part of Scorsese’s documentary about George Harrison and before watching Lou Reed in scoop with Metallica, they broadcasted a one-hour special with Beatles covers and backgrounds from the BBC. The program started with this wonder by the Korean Kittens.
We didn’t say anything till the last moment because we weren’t 100% sure, but now, only two days away from the event, we announce that CANADA, along with L’Ull Cec i Fauni Gena, will present a ONE-TIME ONLY HISTORIC event by ace Arnau Sala.
It’s a sound installation starting from 11 vinyls with 11 groove looks, put on 11 plates and directly manipulated by Arnau.

The other day we made a marvellous fleeting diplomatic visit to the continental ends with captain Romaguera which I still don’t know how to illustrate.
Travelling so far away for such a short amount of time leaves a confused and exciting impression. So the best is, as it usually happens, to answer with the opposite.
Here’s a boring and contemplative postcard of our trip to Helsinki, all the opposite to which we have lived in 18 dithyrambic ultrapolar hours.
And here’s the super excitement that we felt this morning when the UPS guy rang the bell!!!
And here’s the beautiful poster of the first of the two ¡Pelea! presentation concerts in the next weeks. This one’s on friday in the Siroco hall in Madrid.
(we’ll soon put up the Saturdays one at the Centro Gallego de las Ramblas, in Barcelona)
And here’s the sweet press note that colonel Miqui Otero has had the gentleness to write for the occasion.
The machinery of our discographic division starts at full speed to shout very loud that we issue our third reference: the first ¡Pelea! album, in an exclusive and limited vinyl edition, with two sides (¡Qué éxito! / ¡Qué felicidad!) at 45rpm and half edited -which we’re very proud of- with our companions from Gramaciones Grabofónicas.
This is possibly the best photo of CANADA that’s been on the news.

Luigi is in France for a business trip. Come home soon, here we can't cope with everything.
We've always been jealous of Richard Phillips for his beautiful paintings.
Now I hate him, and I'm dying of anger, and I’ve got foam coming out of my mouth.
And also, we'll use this relatively calm and summery morning to present in our website the video we've made for Battles.
It's been a few days since it's interspatial release, but finally it lands in our territory!
Thanks again to ALL the people who worked so HARD to make this work possible.
Carlos Batlló, our young orchestra guy, has captured that in a wonderful making of video. You can also watch it here.
We're launching in our website, lately a little orphan between our cosmic busy days, the trailer for the documentary film for "El Día de la Música" in which we've been working for a few months now.
We're already in the final stage and we can't wait to show it in public. That will happen on June 21st in Madrid.
We are full of proud to present, here and now, the video we have created for El Final de la Noche, a super-subterranean hit by Pegasvs - Sergio Pérez and Luciana Della Villa's band.
CANADA with the "Indignados". And the "Indignadas".
We can now upload the new canadian music video we made for The Vaccines.
The talent and the intense and colossal effort of many many people has made it possible once again. And once again to all of them, thank you so so so much.
Pablo Maestres sent us so many wonderful pictures from Battle's shooting. But in our blog we can only put up five of them... Thanks so much Pablo!
This is the picture of the tech scout for sunday's shooting.
Also we want to share with the world Raul Querido's pre-electoral and anti-fascist hit, in which David has collaborated at the Keyboards. (Thanks Borja Prieto and his wonderful blog for posting this)
And we take this opportunity to make public this nice press note that Godfather of Rock Ignasi Julià wrote for Maracaibo.
We release, on our YouTube channel, the new video that Marta Juan and Lorena Dorta have made for the first single of the band La Estrella de David, "Un Último Esfuerzo", from their second album Maracaibo, now available in stores.
Thanks Marta, Lorena and everyone at Caleidoscopio who achieved that Jesus and Mary of Garraf’s look that David wanted.
Dani Cantó, who we miss a lot in the city, has sent us the first of a series of work that looks good. A lot. What an amazing idea!
My wife says she now wants to be a hippy, but "the old way". And, after reading Luis Ranciero's interview at the Contra in La Vanguardia, I'm In!
To be honest, I’d pay to be like this guy at 71.
Today I made a fleeting trip to the capital of the reign. It's been a pleasure to travel along with Andrés Hispano, an old friend of mine and amazingly kind master. Andrés is a fathomless source. Between life and death, Roland Topor, Buster Keaton, Pabst, Eva Ionesco, the Creedence Clearwater Revival, Dreyer, The Planet of the Apes, the best of Motown and Wolf and Ulises appeared.
It's been an amazing trip and the minutes have flied by his side. What a guy!
And this post is to encourage a thought about time and times, the present, the past and the future, the second, the minute and the hour, the day, the week, the month and the year.
And this post is for everyone who's been complaining about the fact that, in our last Battles-Ice Cream video, there's no nipple showing.
These days we're missing a lot our super executive producer Oscar, who is fighting a super tough fight in the reign's capital.
This post is for him, and for his great style rolling cigarettes.
We present the video we've made for David Gómez and his collection of t-shirts "My First Love". With Chloe Campbell.
While the whole world is crazy about Osama Bin Laden's death I'm here at my home in the mountains, absorbed, watching this YouTube video over and over again.

The other day, Luis put this image in a treatment. Looking at it like this it may seem something absurd, and it is, but for me, it explains in a beautiful way what is all this about and how strange and basic can be all at the same time.
This morning, the DHL guy has declined to bring up an enormous package to the office. And, to make matters worse, I was totally alone. So, as a little and, I’ve carried everything in small parts: Once in I’ve been in the office, I’ve built a pile of boxes that shatter our efforts of making the space something really creative and diaphanous. Then I’ve started opening... and opening... And Yes! It’s already here! The content is very pretty...
Every time you’re looking for images for a treatment, you find something that surpasses every expectations, that challenges the planet’s logic and makes society’s pillars tremble.
Today there’s Tempest Storm in the city.
Amazing! Josep Rivera, as well as taking pictures, immortalised the final moment of Beef’s concert with his iPhone.

I had to come all the way from the highways and byways of Tallahassee, Florida...to Motor City, Detroit, to find my true love. If you gave me a million years to ponder, I would never have guessed that true romance and Detroit would ever go together. And to this day, the events that followed all seem like a distant dream. But the dream was real and was to change our lives forever
While Nicolás was shooting el Guincho’s music video in my house he stole a t-shirt of the Datsuns and the other day I saw him wearing it and it looked so good and it reminded me of how good those guys used to be and what a great song Harmonic Generator is and what a cool video for it made undervalued Grant Gee and those times where I could go to Razzmataz without feeling like a fucking grandpa and how beautiful life and rock and roll are.

Thank You so so so much, seriously.
Third spot we made before the summer is up.
We’re over the first half of our catalytic shooting. Only with the generous and enthusiastic collaboration of so many people is it possible to complete such a journey.
We’re preparing a psychotropic, kaleidoscopic, lyrical epic shooting for this suffocating end of august.
Thank God we’ve got a refreshing carpet to lay down on and put together a shooting, potioning and approaching plan.
Good Luck Canadians!

Lindsay’s tears have destroyed our canadian hearts. We never liked going to class, or being accused of being drunks or being imposed by a fierce authority.
Courage, Lindsay, you’re #1 and we’ll support you to deathhhh.
We have the immense pleasure and honour of presenting the first production by CANADA that hasn’t been shot by one of our three founding members. It’s Hindou, a music video for a song by El Guincho extracted from their EP Piratas de Sudamérica, and shot by youngster Adrià Cañameras. We’re all-time fans of him and we’re very excited this work is now a part of our web. We hope you enjoy it.

On January 16th 2004, the BBC Symphony Orchestra represented, for the first time, John Cage’s 4’ 33’’ of silence. It was broadcasted on tv and radio. The radio has a “silence detector” that is automatically activated and fills “dead air” with anything. They had to switch that device off for the occasion.
Besides, many years after Cage composed his piece, he edited a disc which included, between songs, pieces he also called “silence”.
Cage’s inheritors sued him for plagiarism and won. The Judge estimated that this silence was “the same” than Cage’s.
